ABOUT THIS WEBSITE

You have come to the land of handmade, unique jewelry creations and the world of Parkinson’s Disease. An odd combination, but welcome to my world.

You may peruse the jewelry, some of it is still available to buy, many pieces have been sold. You may commission a piece, either with a special something of your own, or your family silver customized into a bracelet, pendant or pin.

Also, coming soon will be a listing beyond THE MUSEUM OF GLASS, gift shop in Tacoma, Washington and my favorite little wine bar in Palo Alto, California, VINO LOCALE where my work is sold.

While you are viewing the jewelry, use the links or read my stories to learn about Parkinson’s Disease. Your generous donation to an organization committed to help finding cure is always appreciated.

Feel free to contact me if you would like me to speak to your group of laypeople (to educate and motivate to advocate), patients (hopefully to motivate and inspire), and biotech companies companies or gatherings of doctors to remind them what and why they are doing is so important and urgent.    - Lynn

 LYNN FIELDER - Artist statement

Palo Alto artist Lynn Fielder handcrafts each unique piece of jewelry from fine metals, crafted glass, pearls, or precious and semi-precious stones.  Her unique Global Wraps are attention-getting adornments that highlight the beauty found in everyday objects, beads, stones, pearls, and treasured artifacts hand selected during Lynn’s world travels.  Inspiritu Designs also captures creativity, playfulness, and elegance in jewelry fashioned from sterling or silver plated silverware, which is ‘repurposed’ into wearable works of art.

The metaphor of repurposing is particularly apropos to Lynn as her life has been repurposed.  She began making Jewelry after she was forced into early retirement due to Parkinson’s disease. Only in leaving her successful left-brained career, Lynn was able to discover her unique creative talents and allow them to blossom.  Her work, which began with bending paper clips for her own physical therapy, can now be found in select museum stores, boutiques and galleries around the world.

The name INSPIRITU tries to capture the inspiration Lynn receives in making the jewelry and the spirit that each piece conveys. Made with love, each piece embodies and tries to communicate Lynn’s zest for living, her appreciation for beauty and her full embrace of living in the moment.
